The Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation is a 4a sales tax corporation created to enhance Port Arthur’s business climate and overall economic development. The PAEDC is responsible for encouraging and developing business growth and attracting new business to Port Arthur. Our 300-acre business park is especially beneficial to business in the areas of manufacturing, light industrial and commercial development.
The Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation is undertaking, along with other partners, the revitalization of downtown Port Arthur. A catalyst in this effort is the Center for Business and Community Development. Located at 549 4th Street, the 42,000 square foot building was once home to the Port Arthur News. Now, the building will be home to Lamar State College's Culinary Arts and Hospitality Program, a multi-agency emergency operations center, a restaurant space and Southeast Texas' premier co-working business center.
